The Savoy Cocktail Book, compiled by Harry Craddock of the American Bar at the Savoy Hotel, was first issued in London by Constable in 1930 and gathers some 750 recipes from the golden age of the hotel bar. Notable for its striking Art Deco illustrations and design by Gilbert Rumbold, it preserved Prohibition-era American mixology in Europe and remains a foundational reference for classic cocktail culture.

White Lady
Signature dishThe White Lady is the drink most often linked to Harry Craddock and his time presiding over the American Bar at the Savoy. A pale, citrus-bright short cocktail built on gin, it became emblematic of the polished interwar style the book celebrates. Its inclusion alongside hundreds of other mixes, framed by the volume's striking Art Deco illustrations, helped fix the White Lady in the popular imagination as a quintessential Savoy creation.
